How to Choose the Right Creators on Reffero: A Brand Playbook
Using Reffero's creator directory and auto-updating media kits to pick creators who convert: the signals that predict sales, the ones that don't, and a portfolio approach that de-risks your first campaign.
The most expensive mistake in Nepali influencer marketing isn't overpaying a creator. It's picking creators by the only number that was visible: followers. Reffero's directory exists to make the predictive numbers visible instead. Here's how to read them.
The four signals worth reading, in order
1. Niche match. A creator whose content already lives in your category converts at multiples of a bigger generalist. Their audience assembled itself around the exact interest you're selling into. The directory is browsable by niche for precisely this reason. Start there, not at the follower-count sort.
2. Engagement against followers. Media kits on Reffero update themselves from Instagram and TikTok, so the engagement you see is current, not curated. Divide average engagement by followers; accounts with bought followers fail this check in seconds (60k followers, 200 likes, emoji-only comments). You'll never catch this from a self-reported PDF.
3. Past collabs and tracked sales. The media kit shows past collaborations, and creators who've sold through their storefronts carry attribution history. A creator with 8,000 followers and 30 tracked orders in your category is a better bet than a creator with 300,000 followers and no order history. One is a proven channel; the other is a hypothesis.
4. Audience reality. If you deliver inside Nepal, the audience needs to be in Nepal. Plenty of large "Nepali" accounts are majority-diaspora and can't buy from you. Check before you spend. (More on this in our guide for brands.)
The portfolio, not the bet
Don't pick one creator; pick a spread. The pattern that works for most Reffero brands:
- One broader account if you need launch awareness: priced as reach, judged on reach, never expected to show orders.
- Three to six niche micro-creators on the conversion mandate: judged purely on cost per delivered order.
- Two weeks, then reallocate. Cut the non-converters, double the converters. Your second cycle inherits the first cycle's data.
This works on Reffero specifically because the reallocation step has real numbers behind it: every order is attributed per creator, so "who converted" is a dashboard column, not a debate.
What the plan tiers mean for selection
The Free tier's directory shows creators under 3,000 followers, which sounds like a constraint and is actually a strategy. Nano-creators are where cost per order is usually lowest and where trust density is highest; it's a legitimate way to run your entire first test. Pro opens creators under 10k plus reach, engagement, and ROI stats per creator; Premium opens the full directory with unlimited profile views.
Signals to ignore
- Raw follower count, for anything except awareness buys you've consciously chosen.
- Production polish, unless you're buying content to re-run as ads. In that case it's the main signal.
- Enthusiasm in the application. Everyone loves your brand in a pitch. The media kit's numbers are the part that can't perform enthusiasm.
Choosing creators used to be the highest-risk step in the campaign. With live media kits and per-creator order history, it's become the most data-rich one, if you read the right columns.
